Richie Carter’s inaugural African expedition was designed for only ten artists: ten days of painting, safari and personal mentorship moving from the vineyards of Stellenbosch to the wildlife of Greater Kruger.
Richie is admired for his ability to capture light, atmosphere and mood. In the field he shares the complete process—from simplifying complex scenes and designing compositions to colour, edges and expressive brushwork—with generous one-to-one guidance.
A study in contrasts
The first chapter centres on Lanzerac’s Cape Dutch architecture, gardens, vineyards and mountain atmosphere. The second turns toward the raw textures, moving wildlife and golden-hour drama of Kapama Private Game Reserve. Non-painting partners and photographers are warmly welcomed.
