I cannot thank Taléta enough for sharing Africa with us in such a perfectly planned adventure of a lifetime. I came home from this trip with a full heart and a recharged soul, fantastic memories filled with new lifelong friends of; safaris, inspiring painting tutorials from the Master Jeremy Lipking’s generous knowledge, braving the pools by the Victoria Falls together, countless breathtaking sunsets, evenings full of laughter and great food in luxurious places, making eye contact with a rare black rhino, the kindness of the African people, …being able to spend time laughing with this group each night just can’t be underestimated…the list goes on and on. I cannot recommend these workshops enough. Words cannot begin to describe how grateful I am that I went on this trip. Thank you Taléta and Bernard and Jeremy and Danielle and everyone in our group and of course, thank you Africa. My heart is so full. Can’t wait to do it all over again.

“One of the most memorable trips of my lifetime.”

I have just returned from one of the most memorable trips of my lifetime. Taléta Willer of Workshops in South Africa has created such an inspiring and pampering experience for artists and their companions. The entire 10 days went way beyond our expectations. Taléta brought our group to amazing venues ~ we were treated to incredible meals, visits to South African wineries, top-rated lodgings and first-class treatment for all adventures (our numerous sunrise and sunset safaris were incredible with our outstanding guide, Silas). Truly breathtaking. Imagine Plein Air painting safely above a pond filled with hippos, sunset painting on a hilltop road overlooking an expansive game preserve, and hiking out on rocks of Mossel Bay to paint cliffs and coast … all inspired me to truly dive into my own art again and to be more aware of the incredible beauty all around us. This art retreat was enhanced throughout the visit with the painting guidance of Tim Rees, AZ Artist and teacher. Tim has such an exceptional style of painting and shared and guided us through both Plein Air painting and with an intensive 3-day portrait painting workshop hosted at Taléta’s beautiful home and art studio. “This was my second trip—and I’m already planning a third.”

Where else can a painting workshop with a master painter—in this case, Tim Rees—give you the experience of a lifetime? We hugged elephants, saw magnificent animals in their natural setting, dined on the finest cuisine and stayed in wonderful lodgings with warm hospitality. Taléta Willer meticulously planned the entire trip, from our arrival in Cape Town through to departure. She had every detail covered and made the retreat nothing short of spectacular. She is a painter whose spirit and love of the arts infuse everything she plans. Portrait and plein-air painting, together with capturing stunning images of the mountains, landscapes and animals, made this a true once-in-a-lifetime journey. The safaris were as informative as they were exciting. This was my second trip, and I would gladly return—I’m already planning a third.
