Why we exist
Travel should deepen the work—not distract from it.
Each retreat begins with artistic possibility: a landscape rich enough to sustain looking, a master teacher who can unlock new ways of seeing, and a group small enough for the experience to remain personal.
Around that core, every practical layer is considered. Lodges, transport, meals and safari access are carefully brought together so guests have the freedom to be present at the easel.
Founder & painter
Meet Taléta Willer
Taléta is the founder of Workshops in Africa and a Stellenbosch-based professional painter, commissioned portrait artist and mentor. Her practice in oil and charcoal is known for emotionally resonant portraits, narrative paintings and a close attention to value and hue.
She has studied with internationally recognised artists including Vladimir Volegov, Michelle Dunaway and Jeremy Lipking. Alongside her studio practice, she runs a private art school and teaches workshops across South Africa—experience that shapes every artist-led journey she curates.
